AMELIE
Family shoots are new to us. We've attempted a couple but there was always something daunting about having an uncontrollable toddler running around. It still makes me laugh when I think of Leslie at family shoots, with his 'wedding-photographer' hat on, he would say, "Alright, everyone looking this way!" Only to be greased off by the poor child who has obviously been reluctantly awoken and not at all loving his all too intimidating camera.
I must say though, after having done a few now, I am starting to get a knack for them. Maybe my motherly instincts are finally kicking in, who knows. But we had so much fun with the Byrnes family at Melbourne Zoo, the place where Carmel and Chris tied the knot three years ago. It was such a sweet idea to revisit all the locations where they had their wedding photos taken, now to be retaken with the addition of their little gem, Amelie.
There's an honesty and purity in the way children play and see the world that helps pull me back down to earth - I absolutely loved watching Amelie and could have sat and photographed her all day.
We hope you enjoy these images of this beautiful little family. Thanks Carmel and Chris for spending the day with us again. See you guys again next year, maybe :)

I love how dad is having so much more fun than Amelie.
Chris and Carmel said their vows in the Japanese Garden.
Mischievious little monkey!
Amelie makes an escape from mum and dad.
That tree...
Dad will always be the funniest guy in the world :)
Love Chris' reaction here. He must have been laughing at his own joke!
The ever inquisitive mind of a child...
A protective hand from mum, the look of excitement on dad's face, a little girl in awe... priceless!
Ah such a cutie! :)
